Great glory, wonderful day! I’m astonished how good it feels when the sun finally shines, when grasses show as mounds in unmown lawns, and cherry petals start to grace the ground, reminding me to look up.
Dogs walk faster, squirrels linger with more derring-do, college kids talk louder as their masses move up sidewalks. At door fronts on campus, people chat. At gas stations, attendants greet clients, who have already rolled down their windows and who may soon spring up to clean their windshields, just to be out of the car and in the thin air.
I celebrate with a pledge to keep spring’s antics in my repertoire. I will walk like a dog, linger like a squirrel, and talk louder, with energy, like a roving mass of kids.
